The Open Championship on Golf5

The VR Open
Qualifying’ rounds

The first ever golf major Championship to be played on VR will start July 1st with the VR Open Qualifiers.

Consisting of a set of two one-week qualifier tournaments.
The first week (1st – 7th July) will be played at the Golf5 Forest course and the second week (8th – 14th July) at the Golf5 Tropical course.

There will be five categories – one scratch and four handicap.

Every week, the top 20 from each category will qualify as VR Open Premium Players

The Open on Golf5

Starting July 15th,  it will last for 5 weeks (last day of play August 19th 23:59 San Francisco time).

The Open winner will be the Scratch winner. 
There’ll also be a winner in each one of the 4 handicap categories.

The overall Medal winner of The 2023 VR Open will receive a trophy and tickets to The 152nd Open in 2024, and winners from the other categories will receive limited edition VR Open memorabilia.

The 200

There are 200 spots awarded to The VR Open Premium Players which will grant them the following:

Top 20 from each category each week will qualify as Green Badge Players.

Each gets a Green Badge vanity card and 6 months free play at The Open Zone with unlimited free rounds during The VR Open.

VR Open Zone

The unique golf experience will include the selected golf courses where The Open is played starting 2023. More and more courses will be added to The Open Zone every year.

The Open Zone subscribers will be able to play the Open Zone Golf courses whenever they want and at any time during their subscription.
